Oral nutritional supplements
Side effects such as; a sore mouth, reduced appetite and reduced intake are common in patients undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplant and CAR-T therapy. If you are struggling to get enough nutrition from food and drink, then oral nutritional supplements are available to closer meet your nutritional requirements.
Within QEUH in NHS GGC we have access to a range of oral nutritional supplements. These are liquid drinks fortified with vitamins/minerals and calories and protein. These are milk or juice based, and are available at request on ward 4B. These are best used in conjunction with diet as a supplement, however can also be relied on if oral intake of diet has been significantly reduced.

These supplements are suitable for those with special or cultural dietary requirements. If you would like more information, you can speak with your team on admission to the ward.
