Drug details
First line: Nitrofurantoin
(avoid if near term – risk of neonatal haemolysis)
50mg immediate release capsules QDS
(or 100mg MR capsules if above preparation is unavailable)
7 days
IF susceptible, Amoxicillin
500mg TDS
7 days
Second line: Cefalexin
500mg BD
7 days
